POSTER

The poster was made for an exhibition in Museum van het Boek (now Huis van het Boek) in The Hague for winning the Frans de Jong Prize for the billboard project I did in my final year at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy.

BOOK

A hommage made for (now deceased) graphic designer Bas Oudt by people who were influenced by his work and attitude. Everybody designed a chapter for the book showing what relates them to Oudt. Mine was office supplies and trademen's jargon. I made an inventory, reorginised and categorised his work for my contribution.

The book also contains an essay, work of Bas Oudt arranged and photographd by Uta Eisenreich, an insight in Oudt's fascinations and inspiration as an complete inventory of his oeuvre.

Participant: Katja van Stiphout / Werkplaats Amsterdam / Esther de Vries / Ron Faas / Harmen Liemburg / Richard Niessen and Claudi Kessels did the overall design.

BOOK

366 Dutch graphic designers, calligraphers, cartoonists, type designers and illustrators made a spread and 7 printers, 2 binders, 1 paper supplier and 2 cardboard suppliers made it into a book. Each designer was given a date of the year that he/she could fill in as he/she saw fit. Melle Hammer did the overall graphic design.

My contribution consists of a composition of punched numbers that was then photographed.

The sun is still alive but lives in an attic now.

BOOKLET

Idea by Christina Hallstrom and book design by Laslo Strong made on behalf of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie as a farewell present for Kees Maas, who was the head of the silkscreen workshop for years. Kees set up a billboard in front of the academy building in the nineties which I, as a student, then gave a visual kick start. The billboard was en is used by students for a silkscreen extravaganza. The book contains several interviews and all the billboards I've made or guided as well those made in the last 20 years by students and Kees himself.
